Obtaining your Sales Agent License
After Completing Your Licensing Courses
You must apply for the Sales Agent State Exam and License by mail; the DRE does not currently accept online applications for the Sales Agent State Exam and License. It is your responsibility to submit your Certificates of Completion for all your licensing courses to the DRE, as the DRE does not accept Certificates of Completion directly from education providers. To download your Certificates of Completion, log in to your Student Homepage or call us at 800.794.0494.
What to Send to the DRE
- Original Certificate of Completion for Real Estate Principles Course
- Original Certificate of Completion for Real Estate Practice Course
- Original Certificate of Completion or transcript for the Elective Course
- RE 435 - Application for Sales Agent Exam and License, completed and signed
- RE 205 - Citizenship or Alien Status, completed and signed with proof of residency
- RE 237 - Fingerprint Operator Service
- (If paying with check) A cashier's check, check or money order for $305 payable to the Department of Real Estate
- (If paying with credit card) RE 909 - Credit Card Payment Form
