Your course videos, e-books, quizzes and exams are located on your student homepage
Before reviewing any course material online, the DRE requires you to acknowledge, under penalty of perjury, that you are the person enrolled in the course and you will be the only person to complete the courseSTEP 1: Watch, read and meet your minimum study time
You may complete your course in as little as 6 days or take up to one year. When enrolling in the 45-hour online-timed course, you must log 45 hours of reading time and may complete the course in 3 days
STEP 2: Take the quizzes
Take quizzes online. Quizzes are mandatory but not timed. Quizzes have no minimum passing score and your retakes are unlimited. Feedback on your quiz answers and performance appear when you complete each set of quizzes
STEP 3: Take the final exams
You need to pass exams with a score of 70% or better to receive 45 hours of continuing education credit. Exams are available online by clicking on the "Take Exam" link. The exam(s) for each section become available after you take the quizzes and have met the minimum study time. You must complete the sections in numerical order
You can only test for one section within a 24-hour period. The maximum time permitted to complete an exam equals one minute per question. Exams are multiple choice and open book. Your exam grade appears on completion of each online exam
When you fail an online exam, a backup exam is immediately available. When you also fail the backup exam, the course automatically resets requiring you to again study the course materials and retake the quizzes. On completion of the quizzes and running of the study time, the exam for the course is again availableMinimum study time varies for sections which reset due to a failure:- 3 hours for each two- and three-hour course exam
- two days when you fail either Consumer Protection exam
- four days when you fail both Consumer Protection exams
NOTE: Exam scores for the 25 Hr Consumer Protection component for package 104, 305, 405, 505, 603, 802, 901 and 1001 are combined and averaged. When your averaged exam score is not 70% or better, both Consumer Protection components reset
For students enrolled in package 203 or 702, your Consumer Protection exams are graded separately, not averagedSTEP 4: Receive your Certificate of Completion, renew your DRE license
On passing your CE course exams, you qualify to apply to renew your license. You may renew online, or by mail. The Certificate of Completion, available through the "Certificate & Renewal" section of your online student account, contains information you need for renewal. This section also has step-by-step video instructions for renewing online, and written instructions for renewing by mail
Instructions and DRE forms are all available from your Student Homepage. You alone report your course completion to DRE using DRE application forms and information on the Certificate of Completion
